German soprano Kathrin Lorenzen is a sought-after concert soloist, chamber music performer and choral singer in Scandinavia and Europe.

She has lived in Sweden since 2021, when she became permanent member of the Swedish Radio Choir based in Stockholm.

Kathrin is winner of 1st prize and audience award at the 12th International Telemann Competition in Magdeburg year 2023.

She won Sweden's "Solistpriset" (“The Soloist Prize”), as first singer in 16 years to be chosen among instrumentalists of all kinds.

In June 2024, she participated in the prestigious Mirjam Helin Vocal Competition in Helsinki, where she won 2nd prize and received the honorary audience award from Finnish television YLE.

In recent seasons Kathrin has appeared as a soloist with orchestras such as the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra, Konzerthausorchester Berlin, Malmö Symphony Orchestra and the Finnish Radio Orchestra, taking her to major concert halls including Berliner Philharmonie, Stockholm’s Konserthuset and the Slovenian Philharmonic.

However, she equally enjoys performing in church settings or on intimate chamber music stages.

Kathrin has become particularly fond of art singing in all its forms and often attracted attention for using her voice in unconventional ways. Her strong passion for innovative concert concepts and artistic expression is particularly blossoming in collaboration with pianist Oskar Ekberg. Together they form Duo Lorenzen-Ekberg, a prize winning Lied-duo that is trying to revolutionize the art song.
